During my trip to the previous APDSA 2008 at Surabaya, UiTM students had presented their research on anxiety towards dental treatment at their clinic I suppose.
Their finding was that person who had sciences education background had the highest score for anxiety compare to those who didn’t.
No wonder most doctors were afraid of their own medicine and surgery, including dentist.
Some patients afraid the sound of the drilling during the cavity preparation, scaller during scalling and the needle of the local anaesthetics (LA).
As for myself, frankly I’m a bit afraid of LA. Why? The needle scares me as well as the pain. Perhaps during my childhood I was given one but it caused me pain due to the lacking of skills that the dentist have.
FYI, there a several techniques to reduce the pain during the injection. I’ll share it later.
Even some medical doctor tries to avoid any diagnoses that represent chronic and dangerous illness which has death as its complication when they were having the disease such as acute myloid luekemia or lymphomas.
Ever wonder that we also know about death and our life now can give a great impact to our life after death?
It has been mentioned so many times in the Holy Quran about the punishment on judgement day, hell and heaven, and some characteristic of the resident who will be going to either both of its. Besides, the Holy Quran also mentioned about the greatness of the power of the Almighty Allah (subhanahu wa taala).
If we know that our action is wrong and can make a great impact towards our life after death, shouldn’t we be afraid of it as we were afraid of the complication of certain medicines and surgery?
Maybe now we should be afraid of the complications and side effects of our own action on this life.
Well, do to our own ignorance and stubborn, we still repeat the same mistake. So, are you ready for the punishment??
p/s: am I ready?? O Allah the Almighty and the most merciful, please forgive my sins, my parents, my family and those who I loves...
